The Court granted the petitioner liberty to appear in the Jamabandi Cancellation Case.

Summary

Petitioner Chandradip Singh sought liberty to appear before the Additional Collector in a pending Jamabandi Cancellation Case (No. 3 of 2024-2025) concerning public land that had been encroached upon. The High Court noted that the Circle Officer had earlier initiated encroachment proceedings (Encroachment Case No. 17 of 2023-24) and discovered a jamabandi in the name of the encroacher, prompting the cancellation suit. The petitioner requested permission to intervene in the cancellation proceedings to expedite the matter. The Court, after considering the procedural context and the earlier order dated 03.10.2023 in CWJC No.3305 of 2023, granted the liberty to appear. Consequently, the petition was disposed of.
