DISMISSED

Holding

Bail was not granted and the appeal was dismissed.

Summary

The appellant, Md. Safique Ansari, sought bail and a setting aside of a lower court order dated 21‑04‑2025 that had arisen from a case registered under the SC/ST POA Act for alleged offences under Sections 366, 302 and 201 of the IPC. The trial was reported to be nearing completion, as highlighted by the informant’s counsel. The High Court considered the seriousness of the alleged crimes—rape, murder and abetment to suicide—along with the imminent conclusion of the trial. Given the gravity of the offences and the stage of the proceedings, the Court declined to grant bail. Consequently, the appellant’s second bail application was rejected and the appeal was dismissed.
