Patna High Court

Ajay Ram @ Ajay PaswanversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
DISMISSED

Holding

The appellant is not entitled to bail; the appeal against the bail denial is dismissed.

Summary

The appellant, Ajay Ram, was charged with murder and related offences under multiple provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act arising from a case registered in Buxar. The trial court had denied bail, and the appellant appealed that decision before the Patna High Court. The prosecution contended that all witnesses had been examined, reinforcing the seriousness of the charges. The High Court examined whether the appellant was entitled to bail pending trial. Relying on the nature of the offences and the completed witness examination, the Court found no sufficient ground to grant bail. Consequently, the appeal was dismissed and the bail denial upheld.
