The court held that the petitioner had not shown sufficient cause to justify the removal of the passport surrender condition, and therefore the bail order was not modified.
Summary
Brigadier Satish Kapur was granted bail in 2011 on the condition that he surrender his passport. He later filed a petition seeking to have that condition removed so he could travel abroad for lectures and seminars. The petitioner argued that the condition was unnecessary for his case. The court examined the reasons provided but found them unsatisfactory. Consequently, the court declined to modify the bail order and dismissed the petition, leaving the passport surrender condition intact.
