Holding
The court held that bail could not be granted in view of the serious nature of the offences and the petitioner’s continued custody.
Summary
The petitioner, Sattan Singh, was charged under sections 302, 342, 323/34 and 120‑B of the Indian Penal Code for the brutal killing of a deceased person, and has been in custody since 16‑04‑2024. He applied for regular bail in the High Court of Patna. The court examined the seriousness of the allegations, the nature of the offences, and the fact that the petitioner is also implicated in two other criminal cases.
