The court modified the earlier order, granting an additional eight weeks for surrender subject to a Rs.10,000 deposit with the District Legal Services Authority.

Summary

The petitioner, Kameshwar Paswan, filed an application seeking modification of an earlier order dated 13-08-2025 that set a deadline for his surrender and furnishing of a bail bond. The court considered the reasons presented by the petitioner and decided to grant an additional eight weeks from the date of the order to comply with the surrender requirement. The extension is conditioned upon the petitioner depositing Rs.10,000 with the District Legal Services Authority and furnishing the receipt along with the bail bond. The court thereby modified the earlier order to reflect these new terms. The modification petition was allowed, permitting the petitioner more time to surrender while ensuring the stipulated financial condition is met.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioner is entitled to an extension of the time granted for surrender and furnishing a bail bond
  • Whether imposing a deposit of Rs.10,000 with the District Legal Services Authority is a valid condition for the extension
