BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner subject to the conditions specified by the Court.

Summary

The petitioner, Chandan Kumar, was implicated in a case (PS Ramgarh Chowk Case No. 184 of 2025) for alleged offences under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including the forcible release of a co‑accused and recovery of 376 ml of foreign liquor. The petitioner claimed innocence and offered to donate Rs. 25,000 to a charitable organization without admitting guilt. The State opposed the bail application. The High Court, after considering the facts, granted anticipatory bail subject to a Rs. 10,000 bail bond with two sureties, a mandatory deposit of Rs. 25,000 to the Ramakrishna Mission, and a condition that the petitioner attend the Ramgarh Chowk police station every Sunday. The bail order was issued under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
