Holding
The Court held that bail could not be granted as the petitioner was found to be connected to the loot, and therefore dismissed the bail application.
Summary
The petitioner, Dheeraj Kumar, applied for regular bail in a case registered under Section 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, alleging involvement in a highway loot. The prosecution alleged that the petitioner, along with others, participated in the looting. The petitioner claimed innocence and argued that he had been in custody since 17‑11‑2025 without sufficient evidence. The State opposed the bail, contending that the investigation had produced material linking the petitioner to the crime. The Court examined the submissions and the investigation report, finding that the evidence was sufficient to connect the petitioner to the loot. Consequently, the Court rejected the application for regular bail.
