The petition for pre‑arrest bail was denied.
Summary
The petitioner, Ravi Prakash, was charged under several provisions of the BNS 2023 for assaulting an informant with a knife and inflicting firearm injuries, resulting in the informant's injuries. The petitioner, who has three prior criminal convictions, applied for pre‑arrest bail. The court examined the seriousness of the allegations, the petitioner’s criminal antecedents, and the gravity of the offences. It noted that the nature of the accusations and the petitioner’s history warranted a cautious approach. Consequently, the court rejected the petitioner's request for pre‑arrest bail, deeming it inappropriate under the circumstances.
