The petitioner is entitled to anticipatory bail subject to the conditions imposed under Section 482(2) of the B.N.S.S.

Summary

The petitioner, Kumari Renu, applied for anticipatory bail fearing arrest in a dowry‑related murder case (PS Case No.339 of 2025) involving the death of Neha Kumari. The prosecution alleged that the deceased was subjected to cruelty for non‑payment of dowry and was killed, charging offences under Sections 85 and 80(2) of the B.N.S. and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The petitioner, the mother‑in‑law of the deceased, contended she had no involvement, no criminal antecedent, and that the main accusation was against the husband who was already in custody. The State and the informant opposed bail, alleging the petitioner tortured the deceased. The Court, after hearing both sides, found the allegations against the petitioner to be general and not substantiated, and therefore granted anticipatory bail subject to surrender within four weeks, a bail bond of Rs 10,000 with two sureties, and conditions under Section 482(2) of the B.N.S.S. The order enlarges bail on the stipulated terms.
