The court extended the time for surrender and furnishing the bail bond by four weeks, subject to a cost of Rs. 1,000.

Summary

The petitioner, Deepak Chaudhary, had been granted anticipatory bail by the Patna High Court on 24 September 2025, subject to surrendering to the court and furnishing a bail bond within four weeks. He was unable to comply with these conditions and filed an application seeking modification of the order to extend the time limit. The court considered the reasons provided in the modification application and found them satisfactory. Consequently, the court allowed the modification, extending the period for surrender and furnishing the bail bond by an additional four weeks from the date of the order. The extension was conditioned upon the petitioner depositing a cost of Rs. 1,000 into the Lawyers’ Association Welfare Benevolent Fund.
