Decided
Disposal
DISMISSED

Holding

The court denied regular bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Pankaj Kumar Mandal, was arrested on 13 August 2025 in connection with a road robbery alleged under Section 140(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. He applied for regular bail, claiming innocence and pointing out that co‑accused persons had been granted bail by the same court. The State opposed the bail, asserting that sufficient investigative material linked the petitioner to the crime. The court examined the submissions and the case record, noting the seriousness of the allegations and the material evidence against the petitioner. Despite the bail granted to co‑accused, the court was not persuaded to extend the same relief to the petitioner. Consequently, the application for regular bail was rejected.

2 19-03-2026 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and

                   learned APP for the State.

                                2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with

Falka P.S. Case No. 95 of 2025 registered for the offence under

Sections 140(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

                                3. As per the prosecution case, the petitioner is

                   accused of committing road robbery.

                                4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that

petitioner is innocent and has not committed any offence.

Petitioner is in custody since 13.08.2025. He further submits

is named accused in the FIR. Sufficient materials have come

during the investigation to connect the petitioner with the crime.

                                   6. I have considered the submissions of the parties and

have gone through the records of the case. Considering the

allegations levelled against the petitioner, this Court is not

inclined to grant regular bail to the petitioner even though some

co-accused persons have been granted bail.

                                   7. Accordingly, this application for regular bail stands

                      rejected.
