The court granted regular bail to the petitioners subject to specified conditions.

Summary

The petitioners, Chandan Mandal and Sanjeet Kumar, were arrested in connection with the recovery of 91 litres of country-made liquor and charged under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition & Excise Act. They applied for regular bail, claiming innocence and having been in custody since 10 February 2026, and offered to donate Rs. 25,000 each to a charitable organization. The State opposed the bail. The High Court, after considering the submissions and circumstances, granted regular bail subject to a bond of Rs. 10,000 each, two sureties, a mandatory donation of Rs. 25,000 each to the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, monthly attendance at the police station, and the requirement that bailors be close blood relatives. The bail bonds will be accepted only after verification of the donation receipt. The order releases the petitioners on the stipulated conditions.
