The Court held that regular bail could not be granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Nitesh Kumar Muni Lal Thakur, was arrested in connection with a case registered under Sections 406, 420, 409, 468, 471 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, alleging conspiracy to obtain loans using forged documents amounting to Rs. 1.70 crore. The alleged co‑accused include officials of Tamanne Automobiles, regional officers and RSM Amit Sinha. The petitioner has been in custody since 12 September 2025 and applied for regular bail. The High Court examined the seriousness of the offences, the amount involved, and the petitioner’s role as an executive of L & T Finance. Finding that the material on record sufficiently linked the petitioner to the alleged crime and that the offences are non‑bailable in nature, the Court refused to grant regular bail, dismissing the bail application.
