The court held that the petition for modification is allowed, extending the surrender period by four weeks, subject to payment of Rs 1,000 to the Legal Services Committee.

Summary

Petitioner Atul Kumar filed a criminal miscellaneous petition seeking modification of the order dated 10 September 2025 that required him to furnish bail bonds, requesting an extension of time. The court examined the reasons presented (paragraphs 7‑9) and decided to allow the petition, conditioning the relief on a payment of Rs 1,000 to the Patna High Court Legal Services Committee for the purchase of flower pots. Consequently, the period for surrender was extended by four weeks from the date of the order. The decision reflects the court’s discretion to modify bail conditions when justified, provided the petitioner complies with the stipulated payment. The order was pronounced by Justice Rajiv Roy on 3 April 2026.
