Summary
The petitioner, Subodh Kumar, filed an anticipatory bail application fearing arrest in a case registered under Sections 147, 341, 323, 324, 307 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code. The prosecution alleges that he assaulted the brother of an informant with a sword, causing grievous injuries. The petitioner contended that he is innocent, that the incident was a mutual altercation arising from a petty dispute, and that he has a clean antecedent. The State opposed the bail, emphasizing the specific accusation in the FIR and the medical report confirming grievous hurt. After considering the seriousness of the charges and the nature of the injuries, the court rejected the anticipatory bail petition.
