Sonu NutversusThe State of Bihar

Decided

Holding

The Court granted bail to the petitioner on the condition of a Rs. 10,000 bond with two sureties.

Summary

The petitioner, Sonu Nut, was charged under Section 310(2) of the Bihar Nyaya Sanhita for allegedly participating in a robbery where a motorcyclist was robbed at gunpoint. The petitioner contended that he was falsely implicated, no material was recovered from him, and no third‑information‑report (T.I.P.) was conducted. He had been in judicial custody since 29 July 2025 after being arrested in a separate case. The State opposed the bail application, citing the seriousness of the offence. After hearing both sides, the Court found insufficient evidence to justify continued detention and ordered the petitioner to be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties.
