Decided
Disposal
DISMISSED

Holding

The Court denied regular bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Binay Ram, was arrested in connection with a dowry‑death case (Banke Bazar P.S. Case No. 72 of 2025) alleged under Sections 103(1), 61(2) and 3(5) of the B.N.S. He sought regular bail, claiming innocence, a clean antecedent and having been in custody since 27 May 2025. The State opposed the bail, emphasizing the heinous nature of the alleged offence, noting that the victim was killed within ten days of marriage over dowry demands. The Court examined the seriousness of the charge and the circumstances of the death. Considering the gravity of the allegations and the short interval between marriage and death, the Court was not persuaded to grant bail. Consequently, the application for regular bail was dismissed.
