Decided
Disposal
DISMISSED

Holding

The bail application was dismissed, and the petitioner was not granted bail.

Summary

Niraj Singh, father of Muskan Kumari, was arrested in connection with an alleged honour killing of a man who was in a relationship with his daughter. He is charged under Sections 103(1) and 61(2) of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act, 2023 and Sections 25(1‑B)(a), 26 and 27 of the Arms Act. The petitioner applied for bail, arguing that he had been in custody since 8 December 2025. The court examined phone records showing Muskan’s frequent communication with the deceased on the day of the incident, indicating a pre‑planned honour killing. Considering the seriousness of the offences and the evidence, the court declined to grant bail and dismissed the application, noting that its observations are limited to the bail matter and do not prejudice the trial.
