BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court allowed the application for regular bail, granting bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Pappu Kumar, was arrested in connection with a kidnapping case (Patepur P.S. Case No. 46/2025) alleged under Sections 137 and 96 of the B.N.S. He claimed innocence, stating that the alleged victim had married him after leaving her home and that he has a clean antecedent, having been in custody since 10‑04‑2025. The petitioner’s counsel sought regular bail, undertaking cooperation with the trial, while the Additional Public Prosecutor opposed the bail. The Court examined the facts and circumstances and, finding no compelling reason to deny liberty, allowed the bail application. Accordingly, the petitioner was released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties of the same amount.
