Holding

The bail application was dismissed, and regular bail was not granted.

Summary

The petitioner, Lal Keshwar Chauhan, applied for regular bail in a criminal case (PS Case No. 1136 of 2025) alleging he killed his sister‑in‑law who was residing with him. The prosecution alleges the death was a homicide, and the petitioner has been in custody since 30‑Oct‑2025 without providing an explanation for the cause of death. The court examined the bail application in light of the seriousness of the charge under Section 103(1) of the BNS. Considering the facts and the lack of clarification from the petitioner, the court was not inclined to grant bail. Consequently, the bail application was dismissed, with a note that the petitioner may renew the prayer if the trial is delayed, and the court clarified that its observations are limited to the bail application and do not prejudice the merits of the case.
