BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court granted regular bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Lallan Mahato, was arrested in connection with PS‑Daudpur Case No.279/2025 for offences under Sections 126(2), 1159(2), 118(1), 109, 303(2) and 3(5) of the B.N.S. The prosecution alleges that Mahato and three accomplices attacked an informant’s family, seriously injuring Ajit and Seema and stealing a gold chain and a mobile phone. Mahato’s counsel contended that the petitioner is innocent, has a clean antecedent, has been in custody since 16‑01‑2026 and is willing to cooperate with the investigation. The State, represented by the Additional Public Prosecutor, opposed the bail application. After considering the facts and circumstances, the Court held that there was no sufficient ground to deny bail and ordered the petitioner’s release on bail. Accordingly, Mahato was released on furnishing a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of the same amount each.
