DISMISSED

Holding

The bail application was dismissed, and the petitioner was denied regular bail.

Summary

The petitioner, Ratnesh Kumar, applied for regular bail in a case registered as Hajipur Sadar Police Station Case No. 395 of 2024, alleging theft under Sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code. The prosecution alleged that the petitioner had committed theft and that stolen articles, including gold and a mobile phone, were recovered from him after his arrest in another case. The petitioner had been in custody since 2 January 2026 and faced twelve additional serious cases. The court considered the seriousness of the offences, the recovery of stolen property, and the petitioner’s antecedents. Concluding that the allegations and antecedents warranted denial of bail, the court dismissed the bail application, clarifying that the order was limited to this bail application and did not prejudice the trial.
