BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted bail to the petitioner with specified conditions.

Summary

Saulesh Kumar Singh was arrested in connection with the recovery of 270 litres of illicit liquor under Sections 30(a) and 32(3) of the Bihar Excise and Prohibition Act. He applied for bail, claiming innocence and having been in custody since 11 February 2026, and offered to donate Rs.25,000 to a charitable organization without admitting guilt. The State opposed the bail. The High Court, after considering the facts and submissions, granted bail on a bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, conditioned on the deposit of Rs.25,000 to Ramakrishna Math and regular monthly attendance at the police station. The order expressly limited its effect to the bail application and did not prejudice the merits of the trial. The court directed that the bail order be communicated to the Superintendent of Police for compliance.
