Patna High Court

Anil Kumar SinghversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court confirmed the provisional bail previously granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Anil Kumar Singh, was arrested after 467.640 litres of illicit liquor were recovered from his vehicle in Muzaffarpur. He applied for bail, claiming innocence and stating he is not an accused in any other excise case. The State opposed bail, citing the seriousness of the offences under Sections 30(a) and 32(3) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. The Excise Superintendent informed the court that the actual owners of the liquor were named in the FIR but omitted due to a clerical error, and that investigation was ongoing. Considering the submissions and the provisional bail previously granted on 09.04.2026, the court confirmed the bail with the same terms and conditions.
