The court granted bail to the petitioner on the condition of a Rs. 10,000 bond with two sureties.

Summary

The petitioner, Raghvendra Pratap Singh, sought bail in a case registered under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise (Amendment) Act for alleged involvement in the recovery of 1,560 litres of illicit foreign liquor from two boats. The prosecution alleged his participation, while the petitioner’s counsel argued that he was not apprehended at the scene, that two other individuals had disclosed his name, and that no liquor was recovered from him. The petitioner also claimed no prior criminal record and that he had been in judicial custody since 8 March 2026. The State opposed the bail application. After hearing both sides, the court found the circumstances sufficient to grant bail, directing the petitioner to furnish a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties of equal amount.
