BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted bail to the petitioner upon condition of a Rs. 10,000 bond with two sureties.

Summary

The petitioner, Monu Kumar, was arrested in connection with a case registered under multiple sections of the BNS for allegedly assaulting an informant with an iron rod and snatching a gold chain during a minor quarrel. He has been in custody since 7 January 2026 and claims a clean antecedent. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the incident was a spontaneous act without repeated blows and sought bail. The State opposed the bail application, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges. After hearing both sides and reviewing the record, the court ordered the petitioner’s release on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties, subject to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Buxar.
