The order dated 16-03-2026 is modified to correct the police station name and replace "District and Sessions Judge-I" with "Chief Judicial Magistrate" for bail satisfaction.

Summary

The petitioner, Pancham Kumar, filed a modification application seeking correction of typographical errors in the bail order dated 16-03-2026 passed in Criminal Miscellaneous No.16570 of 2026. The errors involved the name of the police station ("Chauram" instead of "Rampur Chauram") and the authority to be satisfied for bail ("District and Sessions Judge-I" instead of "Chief Judicial Magistrate"). Counsel for the petitioner argued that these mistakes could cause confusion and affect the execution of the bail conditions. The Court examined whether a court order could be amended to rectify such clerical mistakes without prejudice to the parties. It held that the order could be modified to reflect the correct police station and the appropriate judicial authority. Consequently, the order was amended accordingly and the time for surrender and furnishing bail bonds was extended by two weeks.
