Holding

The court granted bail to the petitioner upon furnishing the prescribed bond and sureties.

Summary

The petitioner, Bambam Kumar, was arrested in connection with a case registered on 16 January 2026 for alleged assault on an informant, allegedly causing grievous injury. He faced charges under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including offences relating to assault, causing grievous hurt, and other violent acts. The petitioner claimed innocence, stating he was falsely implicated and that the injuries were minor, with no injury report on record, and highlighted his lack of prior criminal history. The State opposed bail, citing the seriousness of the charges. After considering the facts, the court ordered the petitioner’s release on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties, subject to the satisfaction of the concerned court.
