The bail application was allowed, subject to a bond of Rs.10,000, two sureties, monthly police attendance, and verification of antecedent.
Summary
Deeplal Sada was arrested for transporting approximately 510 litres of illicit liquor, alleged to be an offence under Sections 274 and 275 of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act and Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. He had been in custody since 28 January 2026 and claimed to have a clean antecedent. The High Court considered the quantum of the seizure and the period of detention and allowed his bail application. The court ordered a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, and directed the petitioner to appear at Pupri Police Station on the first Sunday of each month. The court also directed verification of the petitioner’s antecedent before accepting the bail bonds and clarified that the order was limited to the bail application and did not prejudice the trial.
