BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail is granted subject to a Rs.10,000 bond with two sureties, a Rs.20,000 donation to Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, and mandatory weekly police station attendance.

Summary

The petitioner was arrested in connection with the recovery of 100 litres of illicit liquor under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2022 and has been in custody since 6 January 2026. He pleaded innocence and offered to donate Rs.20,000 to a charitable organization without admitting guilt. The State opposed the bail application. The High Court, after considering the facts and submissions, granted bail on the condition that the petitioner furnish a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of equal amount, deposit Rs.20,000 with the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram and produce the receipt, and attend the Gaurichak Police Station every Sunday. The order is limited to the bail application and does not prejudice the merits of the trial.
