Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail is granted to the petitioner subject to a cash bond, two sureties, a charitable donation, and regular police station attendance.

Summary

The petitioner, Gajendra Manjhi, was arrested in connection with the seizure of 60 litres of illicit liquor under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act and has been in custody since 20‑12‑2025. He applied for bail, claiming innocence and offering to donate Rs.25,000 to a charitable organization without admitting guilt. The State opposed the bail application. The Court, after considering the facts and submissions, granted bail on the condition that the petitioner furnish a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of equal amount, deposit Rs.25,000 with the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram and produce the receipt, and attend the Bikram Police Station every Sunday. The bail bonds will be accepted only after verification of the receipt, and any default in appearance will lead to cancellation of bail. The order was pronounced by Justice Sandeep Kumar.
