The surrender period is extended by two weeks subject to a deposit of Rs. 1,500, and the modification application is disposed of.

Summary

The petitioner, Atendra Manjhi, filed an application seeking modification of the order dated 19‑04‑2025 that prescribed a surrender period in connection with Ghoshi Police Station Case No. 492 of 2024. The petitioner argued for an extension of the surrender period, citing the grounds set out in paragraph‑5 of the application. The Court examined these grounds and, finding merit, extended the surrender period by two weeks from the date the order is received or produced, subject to the petitioner depositing Rs. 1,500 in the account of the District Legal Services Authority. The modification order was accordingly issued, and the application was disposed of. The decision upheld the procedural requirement of a security deposit while granting the requested extension.
