DISMISSED

Holding

The application for regular bail is dismissed.

Summary

The petitioner, Ranjit Kumar Mahto, was arrested in connection with a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for alleged possession of 30 bottles of Onerex syrup, 70 capsules of I‑SPA procap, 220 tablets of Aadishr, and a Samsung Galaxy mobile. He filed an application for regular bail, asserting that he was falsely implicated, has no prior criminal record, and has been in custody since 3 October 2025, undertaking to cooperate with the trial. The State, represented by an Additional Public Prosecutor, opposed the bail on the ground of the large quantity of narcotics recovered. The Court examined the seriousness of the offence and the substantial seizure, concluding that granting bail would be inappropriate. Consequently, the bail application was dismissed.
