The bail application was dismissed.

Summary

The petitioner, Dharmendra Chaudhary (also known as Aditya Kumar), was charged under IPC sections 341, 324, 326, 307/34 and Section 27 of the Arms Act for allegedly shooting at a victim together with an accomplice, Dilip. He has been in custody since 18 February 2026 and has eight prior criminal convictions. He applied for bail, arguing that he should be released pending trial. The Patna High Court, noting the direct nature of the alleged firing, the seriousness of the offences and the petitioner’s extensive criminal antecedents, declined to grant bail. The court dismissed the bail application, clarifying that its observations were limited to this bail matter and did not prejudice the merits of the trial.
