Mano DeviversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court granted bail to the petitioner.

Summary

Mano Devi, a 65‑year‑old woman, was arrested in connection with a murder case (Fatehpur P.S. Case No. 613 of 2024) and charged under Sections 103(1) read with 3(5) of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act, 2023. She pleaded innocence, claiming she was falsely implicated, and had been in custody since 2 February 2026. Her counsel argued that the allegations were general and omnibus, and that she was entitled to bail. The High Court examined the bail application and, noting her age and the lack of specific evidence, allowed the bail. The Court ordered her release on a bail bond of Rs 10,000 with two sureties, while expressly limiting the order to the bail matter and not commenting on the merits of the trial.
