BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court allowed the bail application, directing release on bond with attendance conditions.

Summary

The petitioner, Jay Kumar, was arrested in connection with a case registered under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the BNS, alleged to involve a stolen motorcycle recovered from him. He had been in custody since 20 January 2026 and claimed that he was falsely implicated. The petitioner’s counsel argued for bail, emphasizing his innocence and the lack of substantive evidence. The Court, after hearing the parties, granted bail on a bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, subject to the condition that the petitioner attend the police station every Sunday of each month. The order expressly limited its observations to the bail application and did not prejudice the merits of the trial.
