The court granted bail to the petitioners, directing them to be released on a bond of Rs. 10,000 each with two sureties.
Summary
The petitioners, Shakuntala Devi and Minta Devi, were accused in Mahnar P.S. Case No. 419 of 2025 for offences under several sections of the Bhartiya Nayay Sanhita, including assault and related crimes. They sought bail fearing arrest, arguing that the allegations were general and omnibus. The court examined the FIR and noted that the petitioners were wives of co‑accused, and the charges were not specifically directed at them. Considering the circumstances and the provisions of Section 482(2) of the BNSS, the court ordered their release on bail. Each petitioner was required to furnish a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties, subject to the conditions laid down by the trial court.
