Patna High Court

Vicky SahaniversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail is granted to the petitioner subject to specified conditions.

Summary

The petitioner, Vicky Sahani, was arrested on 17 March 2026 in connection with a case alleging possession of 100 litres of illicit liquor, an offence punishable under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. He filed an application for regular bail, claiming innocence and asserting that he had been falsely implicated. The State opposed the bail, but the court considered the custody period, the nature of the offence, and the petitioner’s willingness to deposit a charitable sum of Rs.25,000. The court allowed the bail application, directing release on a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties, subject to the deposit of the charitable amount and monthly attendance at the police station. The order expressly limited its observations to the bail application and clarified that they do not prejudice the trial on the merits.
