Holding

The court granted bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Santu Kumar, was arrested in connection with a case registered under multiple sections of the Bihar Penal Code for alleged forcible sexual relationship with the victim. He had been in custody since 25 October 2025 and applied for bail before the Patna High Court. The prosecution alleged that the petitioner had established a physical relationship with the victim forcibly, while the victim's statement suggested a consensual relationship. The court examined the facts and the nature of the allegations and found no compelling reason to deny bail. Consequently, the court allowed the bail application, directing the petitioner to be released upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties.
