Holding

The bail application was dismissed.

Summary

The petitioner, Ranjeet Kumar, applied for bail in a case registered as Turkauliya P.S. Case No.366 of 2024, alleging offences under sections 309(4) and 111 of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act, 2023 and sections 25(1‑b)a, 26 and 35 of the Arms Act. The FIR accuses him and others of robbing Rs.1,50,000 from a CSP centre. He has been in custody since 20‑12‑2025 and is also implicated in two other criminal matters. The Court examined the seriousness of the alleged robbery, the nature of the arms‑related charges, and the fact that the petitioner faces multiple pending cases. Concluding that these factors outweigh the presumption in favour of bail, the Court refused the bail application. The judgment was limited to the bail issue and did not express any view on the merits of the underlying criminal case.

Issues considered

  • Whether bail should be granted to the petitioner despite the seriousness of the offences under the B.N.S., 2023 and the Arms Act.
  • Whether the existence of two additional pending criminal cases justifies denial of bail.
