The application for regular bail is dismissed as no new ground for review is found.

Summary

Shahil Kumar, who operated a call centre and allegedly defrauded victims by persuading them to install the AnyDesk application and siphoning funds, was charged under IPC sections 419, 420, 468, 120B and IT Act sections 66(c) and 66(d). He had previously applied for regular bail, which was denied by the trial court on 3 October 2024. On 10 February 2026, he filed a second bail application, arguing that charges would be framed the next day. The Patna High Court examined whether any new ground existed to revisit its earlier order and concluded that there was none. Consequently, the court dismissed the bail application and directed the trial court to expedite the trial.

  • Whether the petitioner is entitled to regular bail in the present circumstances
