Holding

The Court permitted the withdrawal of the anticipatory bail and dismissed the application as withdrawn, while allowing the petitioner to seek regular bail within three weeks upon surrender.

Summary

The petitioner argued that he wished to face the charges and seek bail on the merits of the case. The learned counsel for the State opposed the withdrawal. The Court, after hearing arguments, granted permission to withdraw the anticipatory bail and dismissed the application as withdrawn. The Court further directed that if the petitioner surrenders and applies for regular bail within three weeks, the application will be considered on its own merits without prejudice from the present order.
