BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted bail to the petitioner subject to bond and conditions under Section 480(3) of the B.N.S.S.

Summary

The petitioner, Raju Singh, was arrested in connection with a raid that recovered materials for illegal firearms, a letter pad of an extremist organization, an extortion demand note, and a mobile phone. He was charged under Sections 25(1)(A), 25(1)(B), 25(1‑AA), 26 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 16, 17, 18, 20 of the U.P. Act, and a charge‑sheet was filed after his custody since 24 May 2024. The petitioner pleaded innocence, claiming no incriminating items were found on him and that he was falsely implicated despite having five prior criminal antecedents. The State argued that the investigation revealed his participation in an anti‑national extremist organization. Considering the nature of the allegations, the period of custody, and the filing of the charge‑sheet, the court granted bail subject to a Rs.10,000 bond, two sureties, and conditions under Section 480(3) of the B.N.S.S.
