DISMISSED

Holding

The application for regular bail was rejected.

Summary

The petitioner, Ravi Shankar Kumar (also known as Amit Kumar), was charged under Section 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Sections 25(1‑b)a, 26 and 35 of the Arms Act for alleged looting of goods, possession of a country‑made pistol and live cartridges. The prosecution alleged that the seized weapons and looted items were recovered at the petitioner’s instance. The petitioner contended that he is innocent and has been in custody since 2 July 2025, seeking regular bail. The State opposed bail, highlighting the petitioner’s thirteen prior criminal convictions. The Patna High Court, recalling its earlier order, found no merit in the bail application and rejected it for a second time. Consequently, the petitioner remains in custody.
