Patna High Court

Ravin Yadav @ Ravin KumarversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court granted bail to the petitioner subject to a bond and specified conditions.

Summary

The petitioner, Ravin Yadav, was arrested on 28 January 2026 in connection with a FIR dated 19 January 2026 alleging that he fired a pistol and threatened to kill an informant, invoking several sections of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act. The petitioner contended that he was falsely implicated due to a land dispute and that the alleged firing was attributed to co‑accused persons, asserting his innocence. The State opposed bail, arguing his participation in the crime and noting a prior case against him. The Court examined the facts, the seriousness of the offences, and the petitioner's claim of false implication, and decided to grant bail. Bail was ordered on a bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties, subject to conditions of cooperation, appearance, non‑tampering with evidence, and verification of criminal antecedents.

Issues considered

  • Whether bail should be granted to the petitioner despite the serious nature of the offences alleged under the IPC and the Arms Act
  • Whether the petitioner’s claim of false implication and the existence of co‑accused affect the bail decision
