Holding
The bail application was dismissed as premature.
Summary
Karu Singh was charged under Sections 307, 34, and later 302 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act. He filed his sixth bail application within six months of a prior rejection. The Patna High Court held that successive bail applications filed in quick succession are premature and cannot be entertained. Consequently, the court dismissed the bail application, directing the petitioner to approach the trial court for bail. No substantive merits of the case were considered.
Issues considered
- Whether a bail application filed shortly after a prior rejection can be entertained
