Patna High Court

Randhir Kumar Singh @ Randhir SinghversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted bail, holding that the compromise and reconciliation between the parties justify release on bail.

Summary

The petitioner, Randhir Kumar Singh, was arrested in connection with an assault case under multiple sections of the Bihar Negotiable Substances Act (B.N.S.). The prosecution alleged that he and others assaulted the informant and his brother, causing injuries. The petitioner argued that the incident stemmed from a private dispute that escalated into a mutual fight and that the parties have now reached a compromise, supported by the informant's counsel. A supplementary affidavit and compromise petition were filed, indicating reconciliation through the intervention of well‑wishers. Considering the compromise and the fact that the dispute has been settled, the court ordered the petitioner’s release on bail upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties.
