Holding

The court held that bail could not be granted and dismissed the application.

Summary

Raman Kumar, the petitioner, applied for regular bail in a case registered under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Amendment Act, 2022, involving the recovery of 480 litres of illicit liquor. He has been in custody since May 2, 2026 and is also charged in four other similar cases. The court examined the seriousness of the offence, the large quantity of illicit liquor recovered, and the petitioner’s criminal antecedents.
