BAIL REJECTED

Holding

Anticipatory bail was not granted to the petitioner.

Summary

Pandav Kumar sought anticipatory bail after being implicated in a case alleging fraud, criminal breach of trust and cheating under Sections 406, 420 and 409 of the Indian Penal Code. The informant, an area manager of Bandhan Bank, claimed that the accused stole Rs.16,38,700 from 43 loan customers through a conspiracy, and that only part of the amount was returned, leaving Rs.10,18,700 unpaid. The court examined the seriousness of the allegations and the nature of the offences. Considering the gravity of the fraud and the pending recovery of a substantial sum, the court found no sufficient ground to grant anticipatory bail. Consequently, the petition for anticipatory bail was rejected.
